Ingraham Myth.

Very often people think that some beautiful Silvertone radio cabinets were made by the Ingraham Company. I even saw a Silvertone radio on Ebay with an Ingraham metal badge on the back of the set (Somebody probably took the badge from an Ingraham cabinet that was in bad condition and placed it on the Silvertone radio to make it more valuable :-) ).
This is only myth, during the period of 1928-1949, the Ingraham Company never designed or built cabinets for Sears Silvertone radios.
In the Sears Nomenclature Index (the complete list of model numbers) Sears also provided a list of cabinetmaker companies and Ingraham was not one of them.

The E. Ingraham Company (1840-1967) located in Bristol, Connecticut, was a one of the premier clock and watch manufacturers in USA during the 19th and 20th centuries. During 1930s the company designed and built wood cabinets (many of those are very nice) to radio industry. Radios with Ingraham cabinets are very collectable.
