California Silvertone Radios.
|
|
In around 1935-1949, Mission Bell Radio
Inc. made quite a few radios
(now they are all very rare) for Sears. These radios were sold by Sears
under their own
Silvertone brand, and were available only in California. It was normal
practice for Sears
to provide warranties and service for all Silvertone radios at that
time.
Silvertone Mission Bell Radios, however, were completely different in
that Mission Bell Radio
Inc. provided the
warranties and repair service.
This explains why we couldn't find any
information (manual, model and chassis numbers, schematic etc.) in the
Sears Nomenclature Index (the complete list of model numbers) or in the
Sears Repair Manuals (the service instructions for each Silvertone
model). Most likely, Mission Bell supplied authorized local repair
shops with their own service manuals and other service information.
From 1928 up to 1949 Sears Nomenclature
Index mentioned only a few models made by Mission Bell.
09.08.1938 - Chassis 113.972 - Models #3972, #7806

09.18.1939 - Chassis 113.414 - Models #7807, #7808
03.28.1940 - Chassis 113.504 - Models #7814
For chassis shows below in the Sears
Nomenclature Index models number were not assigned and no additional
information were provided.
Chassis numbers:
113.383, 113.395, 113.400, 113.407, 113.411, 113.639, 113.639A, 113.949
